The salaries for fitness trainers just starting out in New Hampshire are much higher than the country’s average making it a great state to start out in. The New Hampshire Economic and Labor Market Information Bureau indicated that the salaries for entry-level personal trainers were 13.4% higher than the national average in 2014:

New Hampshire is a great place to find a job as a personal trainer. In fact, it had the highest concentration of jobs for personal trainers in the country in 2013, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many of these professionals are based in rural northern New Hampshire, and this area had the highest concentration of these types of jobs of any nonmetropolitan area in the country.

The fitness industry in New Hampshire is high-profile. Planet Fitness started with a single gym in Dover and grew to over 900 gyms as of early 2015. Inc. magazine rated it one of the fastest growing private businesses in the country.

New Hampshire is also home to the highly profitable chain Best Fitness. ClubIndustry.com rated it number 47 on its 2012 list of the health clubs with the greatest amount of revenue.
